Merry Christmas!

As midnight approaches I would like to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 2010 has been full of interesting surprises and new adventures - I am eager to see what 2011 holds. Although I am on vacation in Richmond, VA, I have been very busy with photoshoots so stay tuned for more photo previews when I return to the west coast next week!

Cheers to you and yours,

Suzanne

Adam and his lovely lady

Here's a quick preview of my time with Adam and his lovely lady before I jet off to the East Coast. We headed for the woods and found dreamy dead trees which I am slightly obsessed with. What's not to love about a couple who will indulge me with danger, like climbing old trees! Enjoy!

Fairchild Air Force Base Contest Winner!

We sure have been getting a lot of snow out here in Spokane, Washington! Brrr! At least our dog enjoys it thoroughly. I have never seen an animal open his mouth into the snow and run as fast as he can to eat as much snow as possible. Silly dog.

Last month I held a contest for a free family photo session. The winner was a darling family here on Fairchild Air Force Base. Diana is a radiant woman with two young boys, a dog and a cat. Her husband is currently deployed serving our country which means she is taking care of everything alone. With two very busy boys she has a lot to handle but does it with finesse. Go Diana! As has been the recent trend (and will likely continue through April), this was a snow session and here are the teasers. You can view the full gallery at www.freshgingersnaps.com. Enjoy!

Pike Place Market, Gumball Alley and Post Alley: a Seattle Engagement Session

I had the most wonderful trip last weekend to Gold Bar, WA with my husband Wells, my in-laws, brother and sister-in-law, nephews and, of course Neyland. He's our rescue lab that you'll see from time to time on my website because he is also my muse. Neyland is what started this project for me so I owe him a lot (lucky for me he accepts dog treats and belly rubs).

On the tail end of our trip Wells and I drove in to Seattle so I could meet up with Sally and Tony to document their engagement. I could think of no better venue than Pike Place Market. It is vibrant in every way: mongers tossing fish as they sing silly songs, Gumball Alley featuring walls covered in once-chewed gum (disturbing but a very unique and vibrant backdrop) and Post Alley which reminds me of strolling through the narrow brick streets of France. Divine.

Sally, Tony and their little poodle/chi mix Sasha, were awesome to work with. They are newly engaged as of Thanksgiving and boy does it show. They are so in love and it made my job of capturing their emotions delightful. These two were glowing and if you think I'm exaggerating, check out these teasers from their session and then visit www.freshgingersnaps.com to view the whole gallery:

A Winter Welcome!

Dog Photography, Spokane WA
Welcome to the new website! It's been a labor of love to get it just the way I want it and I know it will need tweaks along the way - coding is tough!

We're in the middle of another blizzard which is both beautiful and limiting. I'm so thankful for our FJ Cruiser which provides awesome 4wheel drive to get around safely in the snow. That means lots of fun photo shoots to be had in such awesome natural light conditions. Nothing reflects light like snow which is so fun.

I had a blast this week playing with kids and families in the snow - it looks like we are going to have many more inches over the next few weeks so if you or someone you know wants a capture a snowball fight or just a lovely backdrop I'm your girl!

We're heading to the western side of the state with our dog and my in-laws this weekend which should be a great opportunity for gorgeous photos (if we make it- it could be a long trip with the snow!).

Stay warm and well,

Suzanne
